We are looking for a motivated and professional DevOps Engineer to help us maintain the best-performing hosting architecture on the market.

You will be instrumental in making sure our architecture is always on the bleeding edge of technology remaining stable and high performing at all times. This involves:

  • Writing backend services for MyKinsta features using Ansible, Python, and/or Bash
  • Collecting, visualizing and analyzing metrics for performance and scaling issues
  • Writing different tools to extend and scale the functionalities of our stack
  • Writing Serverless applications using Python and/or GoLang to perform regular maintenance operations, audit our infrastructure, collect metrics, and monitor different services
  • Owning different projects where you will start with research, system design, capacity planning and working closely with the development, design and SysOps teams to implement, support and deploy
  • Automation is in our blood. You will implement Infrastructure as Code/CI/CD in every small aspect within our systems, mostly using Ansible, Terraform, and GitHub actions
  • We’re growing and changing fast. You are not expected to know everything but you need to have the passion to search, learn, and adapt

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience working with Ubuntu/Debian
  • 3 years of experience with PHP
  • Experience with a PHP framework
  • Deep knowledge of LXC
  • Strong experience writing Ansible scripts
  • Experience with Nginx
  • Previous experience in the hosting industry
  • Excellent general understanding of Linux, cloud networking and server management
  • Technical awareness and ability to quickly understand new technologies

Bonus skills

  • Experience with the standard WordPress stack (PHP, MySQL, WordPress)
  • Experience working with ZFS
  • Experience working with ELK stack
  • Experience with Node.js apps
  • Database query optimization
  • Having worked in JIRA
  • Good understanding of APIs and web service
  • Deep knowledge of Google Cloud based server architecture
